Singapore Birding I

We flew to Singapore to see an old friend of mine working there and to watch wildlife in early March.

For birdwatching, we asked a professional bird guide, Mr Lim Kim Seng, for 2 full days and we were glad that we asked him as we had absolutely wonderful birding days with him.

Red-breasted Parakeet (Darumainkoダルマインコ) in Changi village

We took a small boat from Changi to Pulau Ubin (Ubin islandウビン島)

a White-bellied Sea Eagle (Shiroharaumiwashiシロハラウミワシ)

It was low tide and the mudflat was spreading far out.

a tall Great-billed Heron (Sumatorasagiスマトラサギ) and Grey Heron (Aosagiアオサギ)
The log-like thing on the right bottom in the pic is a Water Monitor (Mizuohtokageミズオオトカゲ).

a Grey Heron eating an eel

a Whimbrel (Chushakushigiチュウシャクシギ)

a Javan Myna (Jawahakkaジャワハッカ)

a Red Junglefowl (Sekishokuyakeiセキショクヤケイ) preening thoroughly
