Oyumi-ike

I visited Oyumi-ike to see if any Coots or Moorhens were breeding among these lotus but no luck.

Oyumi-ike in March is here

Instead, he was there.

a singing Oriental Reed Warbler (Oyoshikiriオオヨシキリ)

There were 2 males in the singing competition and at one point they were face to face!

After that, both of them seemed to have settled in places about 100 yards apart from each other.

One of them kept singing from the top of a tree...

In a tree around the pond, 4 fledglings were sitting together:)
They spotted me watching them...
'heeeelp mummy!'
The edges of their beaks had some pinky parts, which suggests they are still quite young.
I think they are Carrion Crow (Hashibosogarasuハシボソガラス) fledglings but not 100% sure.

Are you still there...?
Sorry! I'm off now!
